Sisters in White Lake

Wednesday, August 31st.  We drove down to the White Lake/Waterford area this morning.  I had an appointment to get new tires in the afternoon.  Our tires had lots of tread left, but they were 8+ years old and there was starting to be some cracking in the sidewalls and I sure didn't want to take a chance of tire failure/blowout while we're driving down the road.

While they were doing the tires, we drove the Edge to the campground and got checked in.  We have a very nice site.  And it has a clear line of site for our Dish receiver to work in spite of all the trees around.  We went back and got the motorhome and got all set up in our site.  Then Diane's sister Beverly came to visit after she got off work.  It was great to see her as we hadn't seen her for a number of years.  We went out to dinner with her as Jerry, her husband had to work late.  Then we went to her house to see it, her horses (she has 4) and her dogs (she has 4 of them as well).  Their home and property are beautiful.  They live on 5 acres about 2 miles from our campground so it's great to be so close.  It was also good to see Jerry.  I look forward to spending time with him this weekend.

We discovered that Bev's warning about mosquitos was not a hollow threat.   They were out in the evening with a vengeance.  We bought all this bug repellant thinking that they would be bad in Minnesota (mosquito is state bird) and Wisconsin as well as Michigan.  I can happily report that this is the first instance where we've run into a herd of mosquitos.  So we'll put all of our repellants products to the test.

I'm having a tough time loading pictures due to a weak signal.  So I'll load them tomorrow.
